Ten Little Visual Worlds to Discover
From plant scraps, found objects, and a few drawn lines, unique bird-like figures and small communities come to life. Some flutter, some balance, and some look back a little skeptically.
For this set of cards, I handpicked ten designs from my miniature collages. As high-quality prints in postcard format, they can be viewed individually, given as gifts, mailed, displayed—or simply kept.

Each card depicts a different encounter with the unassuming. What was just a plant remnant, a seed pod, or an insect wing a moment ago takes on a surprisingly vibrant life of its own the next.
The Red-breasted Woodpecker and Other Rarities
Plant remains transform into a woodpecker-like bird and other rare specimens from a fictional avian world. Natural history? Almost. Just a little more whimsical.
On the bird perch
Several bird-like creatures, each with a different design, are perched together on a small twig. Apparently, even the smallest group of birds has room for very different personalities.
Miniature bird world
Various plant remnants take on beaks, legs, and suddenly, a distinctive posture. A small world is enough to give rise to some pretty big personalities.
A pair of witch hazel siskins
With just a few added strokes, two plant fragments are transformed into a pair of siskin-like birds. They sit close together—and are presumably chirping between the lines.
Bird species in the palm garden
Small plant fragments take on the shapes of various birds in a shared miniature world. A harmonious community in the tiniest of spaces—at least for the moment.
There is room on the smallest bird perch
When things get a little cramped, this chirping little community simply huddles together. Quirky characters, limited space, and a surprising amount of mutual support.
Ibis approaching
A bird-like figure made of plant debris appears to be flying into the small scene. It is not yet clear whether it will land, stay, or fly off again right away.
Adorned with foreign feathers
Plant debris, feathers, and small found objects come together in a shared habitat. Who wears which feather here remains a matter of perspective.
Ode to the wasteland
Dried berries, a fuchsia blossom, a linden seed, tiny buds, and the colorful wings of a grasshopper—which had already lived out its full life—come together to form feather-light bird-like figures, framed by the bizarre fibers of a palm seed pod. What appears to be barren begins to dance.
The lovebirds
Two small bird figures sit close together on a tiny willow twig. Togetherness can look very quiet—and yet tell a whole story.
Found objects become little characters
Even the most mundane remnants can reveal a surprising brilliance if we are willing to pay attention to them.
A plant remnant, a seed pod, a find on the windowsill: Just a few drawn lines are enough, and from something seemingly useless emerges a figure with poise, character, and a story. It is precisely this transformation that interests me—the moment when something unremarkable asserts a new meaning.
With passion, I give my all to my art—within a few square centimeters. With great attention to detail, I focus on what is, in fact, monumentally insignificant.
