The metamorphosis
I have always been fascinated by transformation. This silent, almost magical process that takes place in nature – and yet has so much to do with us and our own lives. When I saw the metamorphosis of the moon butterflies I not only observed the metamorphosis of the moon butterflies, but also witnessed it myself, this fascination grew into even more amazement.
Lullaby for pupas
I have watched the transformation of mealworms into mealworm beetles: they eat, rest, grow and multiply. Sounds simple, but it’s not at all. Because even the seemingly motionless puppets are in the middle of a silent tour de force that demands full commitment. I did my best…

Art and children belong together. Every now and then I have the special honor of designing new insect species together with children. Every time there are great discoveries. This was also the case with this project with a school class or with the hearing-impaired children of the Elbschule Hamburg. And also as accompanying program to my exhibition in Bad Arolsen.
