It will take a while. But I'm already really looking forward to my exhibition from May 4th to August 20th at the Schlossmuseum Bad Pyrmont. Until then, I still have a lot of work to do. I am currently preparing an interesting supporting programme together with the highly committed museum team. Art and nature in transition - that's what everything will revolve around.
Vegan insects and bizarre bird species are then allowed to populate the historic rooms of the museum. As a visitor, you will be able to experience your own metamorphosis. Who knows - maybe since you have completely changed in the end...
What do you mean? All romantic?... Or is only 2.0 the order of the day?

It was nice! Thanks to the many visitors, I really enjoyed the days in Bonn in the Room for Art and Nature . From the many pleasant conversations, I take home fresh inspiration for further work. Thank you very much for the overwhelming interest in my work 🙂

For her miniature collages, Magdalena Hohlweg collects trivial remnants of where she walks and stands. The very last questionable crumbs, picked up from sidewalks and forest paths, are elevated to art here. An exact alignment and fixation as well as additions with fine line drawings - the result is a panopticon of unique characters that amaze and enchant as confusingly real-looking insects or tiny bird figures. Despite fragile plastic particles or papers and dry plant remains – the small scenes have something extremely aesthetic.
But isn't this an outdated and romantic view of a paradisiacal world that no longer exists? Don't we need new ways and perspectives?
On all account! Magdalena Hohlweg takes us on her hopeful search for it. And not in distant places of longing, but where we are walking and standing. For our human survival, it is crucial that we relearn how to treat nature and ourselves with appreciation. It's time to realign ourselves. We can look at everything in a new way and with more empathy.
