The title of this art project says it all: 300 years of the town of Pyrmont | 300 personalities.<\/h2>\n\n

A long line of important and illustrious historical spa guests and residents of Bad Pyrmont provide me with ample inspiration for new and idiosyncratic personalities. The extraordinary natural phenomena typical of Bad Pyrmont, such as the numerous springs, are also the inspiration for new species to be discovered! All the figures have historically inspired names. <\/p>\n\n

In honor of Queen Luise, who resided in Bad Pyrmont Castle for a long time<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n

A special series is currently being created to mark the 300th anniversary of the new town of Pyrmont. <\/p>\n\n

The whimsical figures in the series of works each cavort around a specially developed “anchor cross”, which is somewhat more ornate than the original and my reference to the striking coat of arms of the town of Bad Pyrmont. Glued with twine, it is a distinguishing feature of the series.<\/p>\n\n

On the back of each work there is a short description of the personality depicted. Frederick the Great was also one of Bad Pyrmont’s illustrious guests.<\/p>\n\n

This series of works is something of a declaration of love to my new home town of Bad Pyrmont. The town’s illustrious history lends itself perfectly to the inclusion of newly discovered personalities. In keeping with tradition, I have named the dazzling figures after the numerous important spa guests and residents whose names are associated with the spa town. <\/p>\n\n

Due to the corona restrictions, all festivities surrounding the 300th anniversary of the city unfortunately had to be canceled. Despite everything, the series has flourished. <\/p>\n\n

Here the “Pyrmonter Badstelze” presents itself from its best side. <\/p>\n\n

The following is a bird species from the family of sourlings. Explanation follows below the picture. <\/p>\n\n

Hylligenborn sourling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n

I named it after Bad Pyrmont’s healing spring, the Hylligen Born, which is still very important today. The water from this spring, which is used for drinking cures, is a magnesium sulphate-calcium hydrogen carbonate acidifier. Such a complex name naturally produces a real character bird! It is also a lively and sociable bird, as you can see.<\/p>\n\n
