The essence of this series lies in new beginnings and the luminosity of the very smallest. Just as the first ray of sunshine awakens hope for a warm summer’s day, the smallest found objects move across the stage as agile protagonists. <\/p>\n\n

These figures made of dried flowers made me think of great egrets: with their elegant plumage, they stand out from the dreary landscape and wade through the reeds with a measured stride. Or are they perhaps dancing the tango? Perhaps the pond hens know it, frolicking in the gnarled bank shrubs at the bottom of the scene.<\/p>\n\n

All the scenes are reassembled from remnants that I picked up somewhere: two flowers lying in a parking lot, a lost star at the bus stop, a pearl hanging loosely on a thread and caught in a crack in the cobblestones – everything can be found again in these contemporary collages – a roundelay of little ghosts of time.<\/p>\n\n

A tiny pearl outshines this scene. Not discovered yet? It is also so small that you will probably first notice the red thread with which it is attached to the bird’s thin neck. Even little eye stars sometimes get lost from view.The little metal star at the bottom of the picture has been lost to someone – now it has found a new sphere of activity here, in the refuge of the smallest species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Insect collection in the “New Love” group of works. We are often disgusted by the crawling, buzzing and humming six-legged creatures. At best, we overlook them because they are so tiny. Yet insects are incredibly versatile, complex and important for the cycle of nature – and also beautiful in their own bizarre way. They deserve our attention. Perhaps a second look will make us fall in love with them all over again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
